Black Cherry is an original mixed-media floral artwork featuring a vibrant arrangement of poppy-like blooms in shades of cream, blush pink, coral, and burnt orange. Created using woodburning (pyrography) and watercolor on wood, this piece combines intricate burned outlines with expressive washes of color to capture the delicate folds and movement of each petal.
The deep reddish-brown background, reminiscent of black cherry wood stain, creates a dramatic contrast against the lighter flowers and enhances the warmth of the composition. Fine woodburned details bring depth and texture to the blooms, while the watercolor allows subtle variations in color to flow across the petals.
Inspired by the richness of deep cherry tones and the striking beauty of a flourishing floral arrangement, Black Cherry celebrates the balance between bold color and delicate detail. Its warm palette and layered composition make it a distinctive statement piece for a living space, studio, or gallery wall.
