Prismatic is an original mixed-media floral artwork that explores the beauty of color, texture, and individuality through a single, expressive bloom. Created using woodburning (pyrography) and watercolor on wood, the piece features intricate burned lines that define each petal and leaf, while delicate washes of pink, purple, blue, and green create subtle shifts in color across the flower.
The warm wood grain provides a natural backdrop for the layered hues, allowing the colors to blend and interact with the surface. Inspired by the way light separates into a spectrum of colors, Prismatic celebrates the complexity and beauty found within a single subject. The combination of detailed linework and fluid watercolor creates a piece that feels both grounded and vibrant, highlighting the unique character of each petal.
